A Possible Treatment for Schizophrenia

Shizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder where the psychiatric patient cannot distinguish between reality and irreality. This situation is a form of psychosis. What happens is that the patient thinks or believes that some aspect of his or her life is real, when the Establishment does not. For example, the jewish psychiatric patient might have the delusion that it is good to celebrate the massacre of of the jews at the Battle of Masada on the jewish holiday of Hannukah. Of course, this type of ideation is psychotic because it is not rational to celebrate the massacre of your own people in a battle, rather it is rational to celebrate a victory in battle.
Thus, schizophrenia involves a certain splitting of the personality into black and white extremes, accomanied by a loss of the use of logic. Thus, the psychiatric patient may think that Good is Evil, or that Winning is Losing, or that Mayrtrdom is good, or that Up is Down, or that Woman is Man, or that Sucess is Evil, etc. In order to attempt to cure such schizophrenia it is necessary to help the psychiatric patient to help build a middle ground, that is, a gray area in between the black and white. Thus, the patient should be taught, following Einstein and Quantum Physics, that reality is relative, except for logic which is a universal. Thus, the patient can be taught that reality is relative, using the following meditative mantra:

"Reality is Relatively Real"

"Your imagination is relatively real"

"Sense experience is relatively real"

"Logic is the only Universal"

"Logic is defined as that which is not illogical"

"That which is illogical is defined as that which involves
a logical contradiction, such as attempting to assert
that an Apple and no Apple can exist in your hand at
the same time and in the same place"

"It is a logical contradiction to assert that A and not A can
exist at the same time and in the same place"

Of course if you are under the treatment of a psychiatrist or a psychologist,
you should continue with that treatment even if you are engaging in the
meditative exercises above.

A Possible Treatment for Depression

Neurolinguistic Programming, as developed by Bandler and Grinder is a form of cogntive programming theory which can be used to achieve varioius results in the human consciousness of a person. The psychistric disorder of Depression is typically thought to be caused by a brain chemistry imbalance invovling dopamine levels. However, Dr. Larry Dossey has proven in his academic scholarship that there is a Mind-Body connection in human beings. Dossey proved, for example that prayer can have a postive effect on the recovery of heart surgery patients. I have developed a meditation mantra which can be used to help reduce the emotional effects of Major Depression. The use of this neurolinguistic program in the consciousness of a person forms a cogntive brain linkage which can help to replace depression with a mild state of emotional pleasure. This treatment should be used in conjunction with the more conventional treatment of a psychologist or psychiatrist or medical doctor.
It is suggested that the person suffering from depression meditate by saying the following mantra or program for 20 minutes, three times a day:

"I find pleasure in depression."

Good Luck!

Sensory Deprivation on a Psychiatric Ward is Malpractrice

The use of Sensory Deprivation on a Psychiatric Ward by psychiatrists and psychiatric hospitals is malpractice. The typical psychiatric ward has the psychiatric patients laying in bed or sitting in unconfortable chairs in a hospital day room for hours at a time without any enjoyable stimulation. When a person in this situation is subject to such sensory deprivation the result is that the person begins to hallucinate and become psychotic. See, Mark Benjamin, "Sensory Deprivation Torture" (2007). Also, the person can begin to talk to him or herself out loud.
Since the goal of psychiatry is to diminish or eliminate psychosis or other symptoms in the psychistric patient, obviously having a regime of sensory deprivation on a psychiatric ward which produces psychosis is malpractice by the psychiatrist and the psychiatric hospital. In order to avoid sensory deprivation on the ward, the patients should have their own music, dvds to watch, enjoyable hobbies to work on, and frequent outings to outside movie theatres for a movie and out to eat at good restaurants.
